ViceVersa on the prowl

The prospect of improvisation acts rarely conjures favorable images for the right-minded music fans. But who cares? Cause this is the agenda that makes this duo ViceVersa an outstanding organic-grounded act sharing a variety of experimental extremes, coaxing occasionally beautiful snapshots from an array of stringed instruments and electronic devices.

Formed by Bangalore based music producer Manas Ullas and Mumbai’s based veteran musician who had played for the likes of Pin drop violence and Khiladi Rohit Pereira aka P-Man, ViceVersa has a list of musical inspirations from a range of genres that includes drum and bass, dubstep, hip hop, breakbeat and rock n’ roll. They had collaborated with the likes of Keshav Dhar of  Skyharbor, Siddhart Barsur of Goddess Gagged, Sidd Coutto of Tough on tobacco. Their dodgy multiple genre compositions describes the effort of this hybrid duo as a hard-hitting and excellent act proving their versatility from making electro chops to catchy and hook-laden dubstep tracks. ViceVersa translates melodies into searing wobble sounds and stomping disco beats. If you like your dance with a bit more intelligence and variation – ranging from electronic to ambient chillout DnB and even dubstep, it should be clear to you that ViceVersa are a band best sampled for their infectiously and intensely sleazy tunecraft will have anyone jumping.

ViceVersa will play their debut Shillong gig on the 17th of November 2012 at Tango. The gig will be part of their nationwide EP launch Tour which also includes other cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and Kolkata. Their EP is available for  streaming here.
