Toshanbor Nongbet shortlisted for Day 4 of Delhi International Jazz Festival

Last year, he made a lot of noise and raised a lot of eyebrows with his vocal performances that took him all the way to the semi finals of India’s Got Talent Season 4. This year, having assembled a live band and taking on audiences off national television, Toshanbor Nongbet is well on his way to enthralling bigger audiences with his musical skills as he is shortlisted to perform on Day 4 of the Delhi International Jazz Festival. The Festival is scheduled to happen on March 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th 2013 at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

The live band backing up Nongbet will consist of Ronojit Chaliha on piano, Sam Shullai on drums, Amarnath Hazarika on guitar and El Nathan Ford Nongrum who will be taking up bass duties. It may be mentioned that this will be their first live performance together with Toshanbor Nongbet.

The 3rd Delhi International Jazz Festival, organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will feature 14 bands from 11 countries this year. Conceived by the ICCR in 2011 as a “tool of cultural contact” spanning Asia, Africa, North America and Europe, the festival weaves together the message of music and culture. The festival is held within the lush green environs of Nehru Park with mesmerizing music playing under the stars, to delighted audiences. As part of the inclusive nature of the festival, entry is free.
