Sorabh Pant and Sapan Verma for Standup Comedy this February.

Come this Saturday the 2nd of February 2013,  there’s going to be some change brought to our town’s entertainment scene as a new budding local events company Walk With 9 Lives presents an evening of “Comedy and Magic”  backed up by East India Comedy.

The show will feature Sorabh Pant, Sapan Verma and our very own John Lanong the magician. This lineup is sure to bring about some good vibes and witty dirty humor. We couldn’t help but notice the “Adults Only” caution on the flyer but who’s complaining? A heads up for first timers is always good isn’t it? Okay not everytime because some of us love to be surprised but there are people who expect good clean humor from a stand up comedy show but don’t get it. Maybe  all the good clean jokes have been told; or maybe they aren’t funny anymore. Anyhow, there’s no room for clean crowd here and for parents with young children, please leave them at home or elsewhere 🙂

Sorabh Pant is one of India’s best and most traveled comedians, having down over 280 shows in over 18 cities in the last three years.  “Pant on Fire”, his first comedy special has toured India, South East Asia and will hit the shores of North America in September. He’s opened for Rob Schneider (The Animal, Deuce Bigalow) and Wayne Brady’s (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) India tour. Rob called him “Very loud!! Killed in every city”  and Wayne Brady said “He’s the second brilliant Indian comedian I’ve seen, after Russell Peters”. He’s also the only comedian – Indian or International – to have his own solo show “Traveling Pants” which is regularly billed at India’s premier comedy venue, The Comedy Store. He’s also headlined shows in Toronto at the world famous, Yuk Yuks where he followed the likes of Russell Peters on that coveted stage. He is also the founder of India’s busiest comedy company, “East India Comedy”, that has a roster of 150 shows planned in 7 cities across India over the next year.

Sapan Verma on the other hand is touted as a ” favorite among the youth” by Bangalore Times. He’s a regular performer at the ‘Best In Standup’ show at The Comedy Store, Mumbai. As one of the founding members of East India Comedy, he has toured across all major cities in India and has performed at several auditoriums, pubs, college festivals as well as corporate shows. While most comics rehearse before their show, he spends that time setting his hair. Check event details below.
